May or not be a Cumbria dialect words involved, pretty sure of adjoining letters but I've been wrong before.

9d. Kind-hearted (6) T???E
13a. One for Paul Griffiths, maybe? (5) B???H
6d. Calves (6) S?I?KS (Is it STINKS ? I considered SLICES but my 14a puts K as third letter IE. 14a. Pigments (4) IN?S - therefore INKS.

6d letters are S?I?KS so can't be SHANKS although it makes sense.
The I comes from 11a. Of sheep (5) O???E and I have OVINE and that's where the I came from in 6a

Can only be BUNCH or BENCH so BUNCH is most obvious - but I've no idea how or why? Who is he and what's he got to do with BUNCH or BENCH?
