I'm sorry for being dim but, whilst I'm sure POTENTILLA is the right answer, could someone please parse it for me.

Lastly, 17Ac Get a move on for fish (5) S???E could now be SKATE given ESCARGOT has replaced MACAROON. But, just to be as sure as possible 14 Dn would help :- Figures turning up unchanged (5) S???S
If SKATE is correct, then 14 Dn would be S?A?S. Could it be STATS?
