Three clues from last week's prize crossword, where I know the answers but don't understand the parsing :-
1) Coin that was rectangular? Normal shape for coin! (5) OBANG
2) Summer featured days on the turn, shorter (5) ADDER
3) Game had by for example snowboarders (3-2-3-6) PIG IN THE MIDDLE

I really liked the parsing of PIG IN THE MIDDLE, so thank you for that LiK.
Thanks also to ProfessorMaisie for his effort at parsing OBANG. I can't say I'm either happy or impressed if the solution really is that an exclamation mark (!) is used to represent "BANG". I certainly don't think it's up to The Times' normal high standards.
I have deliberately thanked you all for your contributions so that I can avoid the invidious decision of who should receive the Best Answer accolade.
