Thanks again for this useful information, NACW! Tried my wits with a printer’s devilry from the Crossword Centre. A real brain teaser for the word, SONY, but I managed to come up with something and am just waiting to see how it will do. Nine days left to submit if you’re interested…

Thanks, Matakari. I never do printer's devilry puzzles, I don't like them, don't find them any fun! The same goes for Playfair crosswords, involving creating or finding codes.

The names associated with the theme elements have all been spelled differently in the past.

The 9 entries are consecutively numbered - that's the real achievement of this puzzle, I think (it must have been pretty tough getting them all into a standard grid).
