It was a reasonable puzzle with some nice clues. The theme, for me, was not really that stunning, I'm afraid. It was more ... OK, so? But I'm more favoured towards the "Applied" side.

I love the subject, but it has been done a few times before, including one I remember in this series, which can't be that long ago.

Much to admire in the puzzle, though - some tricky devices and many lovely clues.

Yes, the subject matter has been done quite recently, though this was a subtle variation (No idea what the title means). Personally, so long as the theme has some quirk, and that the puzzle is relevant to it in some way, I don't mind, even if the theme is not something I'd pursue

I'm happy to be reminded of this engaging theme, which I first encountered in a thematic book. Whether easy or hard, Aedites' clues are always flawlessly neat.

Enjoyable puzzle.

Having said that, I don't see how the hint relates to the thematic changes, and I don't understand how the location of the reordered entries is thematic. Nor, on the basis of a quick scan of Wikipedia, do I understand the nature of the disagreement.

However I did spot the anagram in the title quite quickly ie I put the title in an anagram solver in the hope it might be useful.
