Answers, hints, clues gratefully accepted as these are last few
I have the answer to the first one, but have had someone on here being rude to me for helping people, so will only give clues for you to solve it.
The whole answer is an important church.
The first part is the town (and starts with the name for "one" that has been split into "two"), plus an "i" then add the name of a famous carpet manufacturer.
2. Difficult ! Wonder if first word could be Upper - can only come up with Upper Poppleton but can't see how it fits the clue apart from having 14 letters.
5. After giving this a great deal of thought, I have an answer to offer, but am not sure its right.
King Harold was known as HAL
1 = I
the machine could be a FAX
and the answer "could" be the name of a football team.
