13 Your"R" is wrong
Kiang (as.s) = King (man on a chessboard, capturing "a")
Hi Matakari- you sure of all your letters for 1 ???
14 agrobiological
12 en clair - n(ame) inside eclair (pastry)
1 tame cats
7 Oh dear
8 I think is high rise but I can't completely parse it

High Rise (with many stories) = High risk (almost dangerous)....but the rest???
33 Eton s
Is lyra wise a suggestion?
Its something to do with high risk or high rise I agree
High rise fits with the crossers
something to do with nearly high ris(k) but cant see where the E come's from or what raconteuse is for....
A raconteuse also has many stories
yes indeed, but I wonder why its female raconteuse rather than the usual general term raconteur.
I thought stories was only a American spelling of storeys
Matakari, my nosiness is getting the better of me... You said 'Good evening', do you live in an exciting part of the world?
re 8d I suppose if you replace the 'sk' in high risk with 'se' from raconteuse (not able to do that in raconteur)?
Chambers has both spellings it appears for plurals of story/storey.
I could be writing absolute twaddle, of course :0)
8 The 'term for raconteuse' means we've to use the last letter....
...Term, end, has appeared in a few crosswords - and 'term' means 'limit, boundary' so seems fine.
I did also think that . I might go and mow the grass.....
