Breezed through the clued.
Got the theme
Got the link to both
Got the five for the second part
and 3 out of the 4 for the first part
Really struggling to see the last one at 2d (I have 2 options) and neither make sense (unless i'm looking for a Name) ?
I don't want the answer. But a nudge would be nice.

I have been back through this thread this morning after reading some of the latest comments. Please can we all move on and be the good people that we are. AB allows us to help and inspire and learn (Lets do that in a positive way).

For what it's worth, I appreciate Maktari's queries ( they often save me having to post queries re. clues I've yet to get), and the answers provided by Neveracrossword, Tilly and others. I'm impressed by you all: take a bow. ( And I never submit my completed xwords if I've had to ask for help.)
Slightly off topic, am I an oddity in solving most of crossword in the very early hours of the morning? Clues I just can't make sense of seem to fall in to place at 2 a.m.

Fortunately, I'm asleep at that time. What happens to me is, I go back to the crossword at some stage and a clue I've been struggling with suddenly seems so obviously easy.

Thanks, electricnostril. I think it's great the way our brains work, and also great that they work in different ways for various people. I always like it when an answer I've struggled with suddenly comes to me later, when I'm not even thinking about the clue. I can be at a bus stop and suddenly think 'asparagus!'. Luckily I have never - yet - shouted it out aloud!
