Jumbo Cryptic

Hello. I enjoyed doing this puzzle. Some quite easy, some needing a lot of thought about the meaning of some words. Of course, I have a couple of queries! It’s me,after all.

What’s unfortunately seen as valuable about the Jumbo?
With the letters I have the answer could be ‘ ivory’ or ‘irony ‘. I lean towards ivory but , in truth, I don’t really know.

The other one I know the answer ( radio beacon) and , in part, I see an anagram. The clue is :carbon English modified [ there’s the anagram ] for housing plug with satellite transmitter. I don’t get the housing plug part and I can’t see the missing bit to go with the anagram.
But, as I said, I enjoyed the puzzle and have a while before bath time w

1 Yes, I think it is IVORY too ie it's unfortunate for an elephant to have something that is considered valuable.

Ivory. Elephant tusks. Jumbo was a circus elephant.

I think the attempted misdirection, the solver will think the 'Jumbo' relates to the puzzle they're doing, was as feeble as the clue itself!

It always pleases me when you ( much better puzzlers than I am) agree that the setter is pushing his ( her) luck.
