Can you explain the last sentence please?

Ellie, it's to do with the theme - an important female isn#t mentioned...

Special instruction might be relevant here:

"Unclued lights name an authoress (two lights), her hero (two lights), his group (one light, two words), and its members (mostly human)."

Ok, thank you both x

This may not be relvant but it does define ANGRI

Is the " Pity the love interest wasn't included in the gang considering the effort her dad made" a separate clue or a special instruction for this crossword?

Newmod... the 'Pity the love interest..' was explained earlier (just before your post with the special instructions). It was just an aside, relating to the theme - and probably meaningless to non-solvers!

Newmod..., the first post on this thread has a link - and that shows that Angri was, is wrong!

Thank you.

I have seen and followed the link now and can see that this has already been resolved.

I've just realised that I hadn't twigged at first there were two separate posts for this clue with the same name Spectator 2626. I say the first few of the first thread, went away and then unknowingly opened the second version and just read the later posts assuming it was the same thread. Thanks for saving me spending any longer on this.

Not cracked the theme yet but would like to know if the hero's surname is split over two unclued lights or is it the forename and the surname in two separate lights?

Thank you.

Hi, Tilly... one light each for the parts of the name.

forename and surname in separate lights

Newmod... I think you meant two separate threads, rather than posts? It's not unknown for the puzzle to finish up with two, three or four threads - sometimes with Speccie in the title, sometimes with Spectator, sometimes with the puzzle number, sometimes just the date...

Thank you both. Is the authouress C 19th?

A certain young female, prone to bouts of screaming and/or nausea...

C born 19th c

I'm not on the right lines here. Back to the drawing board. Thanks for trying to help.

Thank you Neveracrossword. Yes I did indeed mean two separate threads/questions both called "Spectator 2626".  I suppose it's bound to happen, so thank you for the 'heads up'.

Thanks, newmod... and it can get confusing at times - questions answered on Thursday often get asked again on Friday...
