Matakari, Tipple would be the drink, the R comes from 'Red primarily', as the face/first letter, T of tipple, goes. Rippple, outward effect.

PS My copy, in the paper version,  has Matakari's clue.

It's very odd that there are two clues, one for the paper and the other (I assume) online...

I have the same clue as Roslyn & herbage.  I've seen editorial mix-ups like this before, but they're rare.  In this case, imo, the online clue is the better one, but it must've been too late to alter for the print version.
