Sorry, for 13 D, the solution to the clue itself has only three letters. Take (expel) 'lone Conservative' from Violence.

JJ, 27 D is Obgyns, medical workers in the US (Obs and Gynae to us!) It's an anagram of N(ew) Boys and G(irls), girls initially. The word is in Chambers.
