Two remaining across clues - some thoughts also!!!

30a) Farmer tended champion King Edward (7)
(Edward Champion/ Stephen King? or
something to do with potatoes?)

38a) Strong drink arrived before food, ending in talk (6)
(Rum / Gin etc before food = talk?)

{ Although mainly cryptic, two answers in the whole puzzle are proper nouns! }

Third attempt - submit doesn't seem to be responding.
Had the answers ( have posted your 11 mising down ones on your other message thread ) and fitted them in by "logical" trial and error. Very often words/ phrases to be highlighted are enterd diagonally so taht was the first place to look.
"Change of heart" was the only thing to make sense and indicates the "change of heart" ( i.e. all but the first and last letters ) of each answer.
