Chambers has LACET as a kind of braidwork -

so backwards minus C for coloured = Teal
You had better not let some of the AB members who are also strict members of 'The Listener Club' catch you discussing Listener clues before publication of the answers!
Thank you for that explanation GetOverIt - I am sure no-one will frown on your contribution in this context.

Publish and be damned !
When the Quizzes & Puzzles category first appeared on AnswerBank, I was horrified that people were asking for answers to clues for all sorts of prize crosswords. My view was that - if you couldn't complete the crossword - you had no right to win the prize. Seemed logical then...still does.
However, it soon became apparent that people had no hesitation in asking for - or providing - such answers, so I just joined in on the answering side occasionally. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!
On that basis, there is nothing whatsoever sacrosanct about the Listener crossword, whatever the regular solvers thereof imagine. Yes, I know they have a "league table" and good luck to them, but that's got nothing to do with the rest of us.
'Publish and be damned," as you say, GOI.

Thank you GOI, and the rest for an interesting thread
You're right. there is nothing special about the Listener. Anyone who posts here asking for an answer to a prize competition of ANY sort with the intention of sending off their entry is cheating. Of course these people will never trouble the Listener statistician, but maybe you'd care to think of the people who prefer to do these things honestly. Asking for help is one thing. but we all know that a request for a solution on here is almost bound to turn up the answer for no effort (less than a Google search in the case of GK Quizzes ) and that's very different from asking a friend or even using a dictionary.
