1. BAROCCO (Alt spelling of 'baroque' = extravagant style).

2. CIPPI = old term for Stocks.

Well, you have to think laterally.
You start with PHILIPPIC = one of the 3 orations of Demosthenes against Philip of Macedon (a denunciation full of invective)
Chop off Phil (Chap) and turn 'ippic' around.
You then get Cippi = stocks.
