I was beginning to regret ever starting this one.

But I did manage to complete it, numbers and all.

A bit of a struggle though!

For the second part I have ALGERINE - A LINE with GERI in it, which means a pirate. But there's no mention of a pirate.

I also have two blank squares below TAUT and above CUSHY. I have spotted Tin Iron and Zinc and I've put in 50-26-30. I think I've got Mercury (MRCU so far) ... anyway, you can see I need a bit of help to finish it off!

You are on the right track with the elements, but mercury isn't there (think Ce)

You're very close with 10 / 11 ... but there are 2 i's in LINE and GERI, so you need to drop a letter from your answer and move it about just a little bit. For the first bit of the clue, look up IN in the list where you found the numbers.

But it is an anagram of

T + URBAN

plus OUT

Out = "not to be considered".
