I have the clue: Cheat (9)

The letters I have are F_A_D_T_R and immediately FRAUDSTER comes to mind but I didn't think it fit well with the clue. What is your opinion?

Cheat can be a noun as well as a verb

Thanks , novalis, I did read your answer on the other thread. I may have a go at them. I am OK at general knowledge and anagrams, but can be totally foxed by the cryptics.
