Anyone good at chemistry? D- and L- amino acids

I've just found a complete contradiction between two websites and don't know which one to believe!
In a D- amino acid, is it COOH, R, NH2 and H organised CLOCKWISE round the carbon, or ANTI CLOCKWISE?
Also, what is the one exception that is neither D- nor L-?
