I was away for most of November and I have come back to find (sadly) the EV chatter seems to have disappeared. What has happened? Has it been banned or can everyone (apart from me) get it all finished in time for their Sunday elevenses?

It wasn't only the help (always very welcome) but the craik that was such fun - where is everyone?

Regards

Thanks Slaney
Hi Copelander!

Thanks for the pointers -- Ready now for posting.

Oh! My goodness! How lovely to have everybody nattering and chattering again. Thank you all for missing me(!) no deadlines at the moment, they begin in the New Year. Just a bit busy with mundane tasks like sorting out the turkey orders and getting the latest Aberdeen Angus away for the meat orders.

As to this weeks EV I am absolutely flummoxed by the dratted thing and have (metophorically) thrown it over my shoulder in disgust. I just feel that my brain has gone to mush and I just can't get started by even working out the preamble let alone the nasty last sentence about 'lengths given indicate......etc'. So, I will have to be considered a lost cause this week and bow to your greater intellects - clever clogs!

Didn't notice the extended posting date - but it is great isn't it?

Regards

DD
Hello Devadolly
Will you be setting us chattering and nattering next sunday as well? Really pleased to see you back.
Ciao ciao

Thank you DocHH, don't want to hog the limelight so it should be whoever gets up first!

Sounds like you like your best quality beef judging by the description of Sunday lunch!

Your quest forever is to be our Liaison Officer (unpaid). Pork is OK too, but only if it's Kosher. I sent an Xmas card to my Fathers Jewish Sisters, it said on the outside
"Roses are reddish,
Violets are blueish
If it wasn't for Christmas"

"Open Card"

"We'd all be Jewish"

They loved it
Thanks to all, off to the post now too. Devadolly, if you're talking turkey and beef orders, this must be an extremely busy time of year.....no wonder you're not able to focus on a frippery like EV. I will welcome anyone who starts an EV thread next week, but as we've a couple of pre Christmas parties lined up, I'm not sure how sensible my contributions will be!

Excuse you, DocHH, but for banter someone needs to start a thread, which hasn't happened that often since the downfall of the free link

Well, I think we have all decided that we like the flip comments almost as much as the Xword (Huh! in my case it is sometimes more than......!) so I still think it is whoever gets up first on a Sunday. Perhaps as it is getting to the party season we can trade hangover cures too.

'See' you all next week I hope

Regards

DD

PS If it has to be Mr O you are all going to have to be very kind to me and help.........................
I'll give you a hangover cure if you'll give me a cure for a cold ( heavy duty version .... but not flu!! )

Not even Oxymoron would stuff us with the one before Christmas......would he?

Wonder what the closing date will be! Let's hope it's after the Christmas long "weekend" - especially as the local sorting office is one of seven which is due to be affected by a strike this Friday.

Oh dear - poor you Novalis!
Heavy dose of Vit C every day and Echinacea tablet 3 times a day whilst in extremis and one daily throughout the winter to boost your immune system and prevent you getting the damned thing in the first place.

As a cold is the first sign that your immune system is under pressure, rest is most needed for a quick cure. Definately early to bed with a hotty plus a very hot whisky, honey & lemon, can't be beaten.

Hang-overs - can't beat Nux Vomica + beans on toast for a nuclear variety!
