Can anyone help with the Radio Times Prize Crossword week 52 (20 Dec - 2 Jan issue)?

I am stuck on the following clues:

2 DOWN - Bar festive offering
*A**

49 DOWN - Character fired while in dock
*U*L*T*

14 ACROSS - Shows without a lot of celebrations
*E***S

A friend of mine thinks that 49 DOWN might be BULLITT and 14 ACROSS might be SERIES but need this confirming. Really not sure on 2 DOWN. Please help! :-)

14a Reve(a)ls
2d Cake
2d Cake - as 'bar' (of soap), etc - horrible clue, IMHO...
49d Quality - 'lit' (fired) (in) 'quay' (dock)
14a Reve(a)ls

Thanks for those suggestions. QUALITY seems a definite (well worked out!) and I see what you mean about CAKE, but is the other one REVELS without the A?
