What is the clue ?
I was about to post the same question! The clue is:- Knock it back and fall(6) T?P?L?
Topple ......Overturn/knock back.....Fall over
I thought it was tipple, i.e. knock it back= drink too much, and also fall. But on reflection, it's probably topple, as tipple doesn't seem to be a verb in the latter sense, according to Chambers anyway.

Thanks all. I'm still not sure which is right as "topple" doesn't relate closely to "knock it back" or "tipple" to "fall". Any more suggestions?
Tipple is a regional word for a fall, at least it was in Lancashre 50 years ago, so I think that fits the clue better

Thanks Lapsapchung; that makes sense.
I think 'knock it back' rather than 'knock back' points towards tipple, but can anyone provide a dictionary reference to the meaning 'fall'? Otherwise 'topple', unsatisfactory though it is, will have to be the answer.

The doubt suggests it is, er, a p*ss-poor clue.
