Kayakamina. So what is the answer to23 Defective part in forerunners of the Web having band of brothers at the end of the line? What is the wordplay? How does it fit into the palindrome?
Only just seen your post.

The palindrome is WE FEW

Quote from Shakespeare..' We few, we happy few . we band of brothers'
Hello

kayakamini - ? my house - do you have an African connection?

Hello carmalee.

Yes I spent some time in South Africa on a posting there and adopted this pseudonym in recognition of a happy period in my life.

It seems I explain this every year or so to newcomers to the site.

Cheers

K (that's what I'm generally called for short)
Hi Knodge.

Read it forward and back and you will see that 'Inward' is correct.
thanks for the explanation K - I'm ex Rhodie and SA hence the query. Stay well
Hi Kayakamina

Sorry to differ but ONward works just as well in the palindrome & seems to fit 4ac better. Could you please just take another look. Thanks
Well, after a bit of Googling I'm now sure I'm right.

This palindorme (with Onward!) is known as one of the longest in the English language.

See, for example:
