Hello everyone - as usual, am supposed to be doing something else, but as test cake now in the oven thought I would see if the N & C had begun...................No? Well it has now! Haven't had a chance to look at EV yet I'm saving it for a nice peaceful hour or two about 3pm when Himself goes out to start work.

i am quite new to the answer bank and have seen a few threads lately about people answering questions which some of you guys think should not be answered,as there maybe a couple of weeks to go in the quiz they are entering,and a few posts to say put your questions in one thread,as you are taking space up for other members,do you not think this thread belongs in chatterbank ,as it has no relevance to questions and answers

I quite agree with you copelander. Even if it appears to be a ChatterBank thread all the postings are relevant to EV 853, which Wallacia seems to have missed! Or as you probably correctly surmise has not tried to solve.

i have never heard of EV 853,the point i am trying to make is,how can you be so elitist,is it because you guys are superior in your wisdom to 99% of the answer bank members,some of you guys moan about the space we take up,but you guys are doing the same,i am not trying to be pernickity,but do not decry people who are trying to learn,thank you for your time.

Oh dear! As far as I'm concerned this is a thread very specific to EV and to EV solvers and triers......not at all elitist ( I'm not actually sure what that means in this context ... I'm in awe of regular Listener solvers,for example, but I feel a camadarie with EVers and specciesouls ), and I hope not taking up too much room on AB.

Just to say thanks for thinking of me Doc H H and. no, you haven't spoiled anything for me - I have guests at the moment so even less time to look at EV than usual, but have most of the answers and about to fit them into the grid. Looked earlier but couldn't find you at the proposed 6 0'clock slot, so did a search just now. In fact, I'm glad I looked because otherwise I would have been unaware of the (possibly needed) three words under the grid. Oh and incidentally I consider information about inaccuracies and omissions in the grid of vital importance and certainly not just chatter.

Not quite sure what the problem is that wallacia has with our N & C? Has anyone said he/she can't play? Straw poll regulars - do we carry on as 'normal', that is getting together on the subject of that week's EV and then letting our chatter trundle down whichever road it leads or do we restrict our chatter/brains/humour & commeraderie to giving the answers to questions as in other areas of the quiz & puzzle site?

You contribution is most welcome, and please do not feel as if you have butted in! There is a sort of code here that we just hint rather than give actual answers, as happens in other parts of Q&P. Devadolly likes to get us Nattering and Chattering, now abbreviated to N&C, as well as the essential hinting. So in essence your posts have been spot-on.
Regretfully you have made me rethink the 3 words!
