can i just ask those who knew the answer did you know harry graham before you got the clue or do you have some canny device for putting in the letters and it producing the answer. i had same letters but fear it would be unlikely i'd ever get it as i don't know harry.
I had already discovered Harry Graham by the previous clue about ruthless ryhmes and although i smiled I cannot see the relevance. Help would be appreciated>
Not sure what you mean by relevance - the two multi-word clues represent a quotation from one of Harry Graham's Ruthless Rhymes:
O'er the rugged mountain's brow
Clara threw the twins she nursed,
And remarked, "I wonder now
Which will reach the bottom first?"
It's a typical piece of Araucaria mischief to compile a puzzle like this. Araucaria is John Graham, so is a namesake of the poet - I don't know if they are related.
I mistyped and looked up ragged. When I checked and then tried rugged, I picked up the Clara clue which I didnt find googling ruthless rythmes. Could refind the Clara website and didnt recall the name of the poem. Mind you I did discover children should be seen and not heard never having realised where came from Thanks to all
