Many thanks greyfox ... my first attempt at this crossword was last week which I greatly enjoyed. (S)

Sarumite, it's very different from last week's. A lot easier but fiddly to do. I suggest you keep careful track of what you have put into the grid. I have used colours for word and solution lengths. No intellect needed for this one but lots of patience and finickety filling in. Doc gives us a couple of these each year. Good solving!

Have to admit I hardly referred to the definitions, so not too fiddly once they were disregarded.

? an error in the preamble - four two-word entries, not three (1 , 5 , 18 and 44, all across lights)
