EV 860 Hellish Rate
66 Answers
Hello EV N&Cing Wine Clubbers,
That was somewhat more challenging. A few words I'd never heard of didn't help! After I'd spotted a possibility in the perimeter it all fell into place.
Pleased to see that the SS had been put upside down, perhaps a mirror image would be better.

It is indeed a good thing the SS are printed upside down, since folks clever enough to solve the EV are clearly not quite clever enough to rotate a piece of paper, or to read upside down.

Well my EV is 861 - so there! Not that that helps me, like drb I have only handful of clues in place but will try again when I get to bed.
How do you all manage to cotton on to the theme so easily, means not a thing to me. God, I must be thick, I'll have my membership cancelled before long!
Yes Doc you are still the horridest friends, coz you nag me!
Perhaps no SS would be better or, on second thoughts, it doesn't help at all, just makes me feel thicker as they are generally DDutch too..................................
Regards

Hello everyone
Am pleased Devadolly spotted my "deliberate" mistake, perhaps I should just face the music and take the blame for a silly error, and admit that the scale of my error was unforgivable. Mea Culpa, multiple times, for failing my test, just glad novalis and drb were marking today's scripts!!

Hi Doc - not at all, only noticed it because I keyed in EV 861 and nothing came up, then I thought - Hhhhuuuummm! That there Doc will be sitting there with his post-prandial and it has gone 4pm so I had better browse around for a bit before I start a thread, don't want to confuse the troops with choice! Things to do but will be back tomorrow (probably for help) so dust off your hints for the theme please.

Oh! I can't resist peeking when I get bogged down!!!!! Cotton? Germanist??? Deliberate???? Facing music????? I know it is a composer............................................German, right, well, a list as long as one's arm, deliberate, Brahms, Beethoven, Mahler, Bruch, Bruckner (yes I know he is Austrian but he is deliberate), Wagner, now there is deliberate, Strauss - Richard of course.......................................but cotton????? Are we moving to the deep south and the necessity for a Basso Profundo???
Hello Devadolly, encore une fois, your ACRONYM is spot on it should lead you to "How to solve this problem"!!
Herself is here and approving my hints! Herself cooked a nice roast beef, yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, roast parsnips with carrots broccoli and cauliflower, and I added some horseradish sauce! Washed down with a bottle of Tempranillo. We have been for a walk around the estate and returned for some cheese and biscuits. Have a Moody Blues CD playing.
