English conjunction that becomes gin north of the border! (5) u?t?l - the only word I can think of is 'until' which is a conjunction but I don't see the gin connection north of the border - any ideas anyone ?

hi Harry...until is correct...checked it out in my trusty Scots dictionary:o)

Hi JMR27 - I've got a Scots dictionary too but there's no mention of gin with the word 'until' - however thanks for your reply!!
If you look up gin in an online dictionary, you get the Scottish meaning of gin. This is as in agin etc and nothing to do with the spirit gin, if that is what was confusing you.
