Enjoyable, and far less taxing than last week. No doubt the theme will not please everybody, but it's very prettily executed, with great economy and no ambiguity.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I have the quotation and know what it is all about, and the name of the person who disagreed with the claim but it seems to me that there is some ambiguity about exactly what the subject to be written underneath the grid is. Is it the very specific thing under discussion or a term - I know of two - for this type of thing?
I liked this puzzle. Some of the clues were tough but fair -- there were very few obscure answers but many which were constructed using obscure definitions.
I don't think there is any ambiguity as to what should be written beneath the grid. The preamble does say the contents of the cells lead to the *derivation* of the subject.
I don't remember Stan compiling a puzzle before but let's hope there are more in the future. I'm impressed!
