I've got the clued lights. Unless I'm mistaken, there are 12 unclued lights, and assume (possibly incorrectly) the unclued lights are meant to form groups of 3. I can't see a common feature to any potential group of 3
Hi, K. I hope I didn't sound a bit presumptious about the theme, being so new to the Spec, but must admit it drove me mad. Three what? Little pigs, musketeers, furies, graces? Got it in the end but found it a bit, well, non-specific. Sorry if I sound a bit thick but what is a spiral crossword? I'll say my 'doh' in advance.
As someone in the original thread noted, a recent Spec had as the theme words with 4 of the same letter. I guess "fives" will be coming up soon; such a puzzle would be full of sassiness, I suppose... (hmm... any other such words? we'll see who assesses that question....)
Zita I tried to find a link to the last Spiral but I was unsuccessful . Must be about 18 months ago.
The puzzle is a circle with a theme running around the perimeter and the spokes consisting of 6 letter words running either up or down to a themed lower circle.
If he was not the crossword editor it would be Doc who would be 'let go'!
K. I may have sounded a bit less than serious. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have grandchildren, too. I will say no more because it has not ben a good day.
