I know I am a newbie but what has GRATIN got to do with misbehavin? Apart from the \'aint\'?

GRATIN is a synonym of an (obscure) anagram of "ain't". Misbehavin' is the anagram indicator. There's even a tenuous argument to be had for "cretin" as a synonym of "a nit".

Thank you, Bathtub. I couldn't decide whether it was cretin or gratin. Didn't know about the obscure synonym.
