The4th letter of 6ac is the 1st of 9d. I'm clutching at straws with BEDHOP and HENBIRD but don't like either guess. Thanks for any advice

If your letters are correct, I can only see 'Redbird' (a small-ish cardinal), but my brain can't parse the clue - sorry, but it is late! :-(
