Tin appearing for tobacco (5)

I think it must be snout as I know this is slang for tobacco but where does the tin come in????

SN= tin Out=appearing
Just to elucidate, the chemical symbol for tin is Sn (which comes from the Latin Stannum).
Did it need that much eluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccccccccidation?
