Thanks for your prompt reply dr b, I can see where the in all =essence comes into play, but how does the F fit into it and what has it to do with junction?

One of the meanings of infall in Chambers is junction
To sum up = in all
TraFfic esentially = F

Many thanks all, the older I get the more I realize how little I know. Oh for the giddy teen years again when apparently I did know it all. Never finished a crossword though.
