Thank you, K. You're a star.
Mintyman are you out there - PDF link would be much appreciated.
Does this suffice http://docs.google.co...DU4YzZjZDZhNWE4&hl=en ? (my first attempt at providing an online pdf)
Many thanks, Bibblebub.
Yes, that worked brilliantly, thank you !
good - wasn't sure if you might need the whole page not just the crossword part of it
It seems to have worked, though the print/typeface is a bit rough/broken up.
P.S. We usually like to read the previous winners...
That's probably because I initially used just the crossword area of the page in the SmartEdition and stretched to fit A4 paper size.
Thanks kayakamina and bibblebub, and congratulations to the ABer whose name I see in there.
I am trying to upload the full page to Google Docs but it seems very reluctant to want to transfer the data.

But I have wondered why people require a pdf version and can't view the SmartEdition, because then you can print the whole page or just an area of it for yourself.
Thanks as ever for the link and well spotted slaney re. my win this week. It's one of those competitions where the second prize is preferable to the first.

Hi Bibblebub
I require the PDF because I don't have a printer and have to e-mail the document to a friend down the road to print, which I can't easily do with the Smart Edition.
hi crucifernz - of course, it's so easy to assume that everyone has a printer.

If I were to do this again when the link hasn't already been given would you be happy if it was just the crossword or would you want the rest of the page too?

p.s. If the print/typeface is a bit rough/broken up.then when it comes to printing, the printout can always be scaled down when using the print dialogue so that it appears less so.

p.p.s. I can't get the full page to upload so I've given up on that.
We competitive crossworders like to see the solution and the winners ....
sorry for tardiness. school run, warm weather....

I have some sympathy with smithies' comment last week. I think that this little group is effectively a discussion group. I hope that we won't be directly revealing lots of answers.

Nothing wrong with oblique hints and gentle nudges.

Otherwise I am too nervous to look at the group comments until i've finished the puzzle.

Perhaps if someone really wants a particular solution they could post a separate question.
Hi is something wrong with the grid- 7down solution 9 letters but doesn't fit?
Many thanks for the links everybody. Will attempt this later.

Hi djawhufc

7d is one of four clued solutions that must be adjusted thematically before entry.
Thanks.

Never had a go before-I do Times, Guardian and Telegraph.

Is it much harder?

Any tips?
