EV 908 Tightens by Warbler

I thought this was one of the easier puzzles, and, as no
one has started a thread I wanted to offer my congratulations
to MLN;Rugby for his success with EV 905.

He is a stalwart of this site and thoroughly deserves it.

Yes, I don't think that this week's will cause anyone to break a sweat. MLN was thoroughly congratulated on his EV 905 win in last week's thread, but there is no harm in double congratulations. We wouldn't want to be accused of a failure to communicate.

Agreed, and my congrats too. A couple of the corrected vowels in the third word of the helpful pointer are strangely elusive, mind, like last week.

turnerjmw, the last thing I did was fill in two letters in the pointer (3rd word), but I was able to resolve it all to my satisfaction this time.

After a mishap with a cup of tea this morning I'm minus the full preamble for this puzzle. Could some kind soul please post it here? The grid is filled in and I have what looks like all the corrected letters but can't proceed further at the momemt.

Novalios, the preamble is " In TIGHTENS several clues contain a misprint in the definition. Correct letters, in clue order, reveal a helpful pointer ( minus a conjunction and a definite article ) to the eight grid entries to be highlighted ( as does the puzzle's title ) These, when correctly linked, give the names of four works (minus one definite article and two prepositions ) by an artist whose name should also be highlighted "

When I started this thread I hadn't realised that news of MLN's success had been
covered last week.

I saw his name alongside today's grid and thought i'd draw attention to it. No harm done and it's always nice to have one of our own as a winner.

Copelander, how was your St Pancras experience the other week? On the way back mine was a delayed arrival from Bruxelles, for which they apologised with extra glasses of champagne! Quite acceptable methinks!

DocHH, St Pancras was an experience in itself......I loved walking around and admiring it. We didn't have a drink in the champagne bar, as it was far too cold, but had a delightful Mother's Day brunch in the (very good) restaurant. Back to London again next weekend as a surprise from me for my husband's birthday.And for Andrew, no probs here in any of the wordplay.
