Thanks mintyman.
Thanks, Mintyman and wish me luck; I'm going to need it.
Cheers minty, dependable as ever !
many thanks for link
Definitely one of the harder puzzles. Without Anagrammer, Crossword Buddy and Google I would still be struggling.
It was certainly harder than last week but as kayakamina said on the other thread once you have established the extra letters in 1a & 10a the title of the work and the quotation are obvious.

Oddly enough It was the highlighting of the other 10 clues that held me up.
Thanks mintyman
Quite a hard one today, although it all fitted nicely together. I also found anagram solver a great help with this one, along with Bradford's dictionary. Thank you M for the link.
Came at this from a slightly different angle as we were out with no handy helpers. However, after getting a few which included 14a and 15a the title was nicely laid bare. The actual quote, however, caused us a bit more trouble and there was a bit of muttering under the breath until the correct place was reached! A pleasant puzzle, thank you Columba.
What do you do if you do not have Anagrammer & Crossword Buddy? It feels a bit unfair.
I've never used, or even heard of, anagrammer or crossword buddy, but still somehow manage to complete the puzzle every week.
We use Chambers Word Wizard for anagrams - and the Big Red Book. Sometimes I have a gander at the OneLook Dictionary - but Chambers is pretty much it!

Just finished. I generally don't get to the puzzle until the weekend and don't dare look at this site in case someone gives the game away before I have completed it.
I thought it a good puzzle. Looks daunting. But one of those for me which is slow to start then starts to speed up until it all tumbles over quickly at the end.
The best bit is finding the theme. Once the quotation is revealed it gets a bit too easy.
A belated thanks for the links. I managed to get behind with various things so didn't start on this until after yesterday's EV. A most enjoyable well set, well polished and multi-faceted puzzle.
