Looks like it should be beastly - means bestial and Bunter was always saying it - but as for the rest of the clue...?

I'd assume the g?s?n is the right orientation - but I doubt if all those letters are correct.

the s if from beastly therefore is bombproof

the s and g come from the beginning of a christmas carol which is placed in a circular direction. Every thing else fits and ties up nicely with the rest of the crossword
