Let Alone
Ever so?
28a gangster
23d ever so
Let (hindrance) A (amateur) Lone (solitary)

Gangster ..Gaes (goes) Ter(n) short bird)

Ever so - hidden
Ever So (hidden)
Gang is used in Scotland for go
let is hindrance; a lone is a one with l(learner) inside
let = hinderance
a = amateur
lone = solitary

gang = scottish for go
Agree with Hammersgirl regarding reason for LET ALONE
Apologies - Gang not Gaes .

Okay maybe the other explanation of LET ALONE is better. I didn't know Amateur was represented by an A
If the abbreviation is in Chambers it is acceptable.

Therefore A is Ok for amateur.
