Thanks minty - should be less of an odyssey this week !
Thanks for the pdf link mintyman.

Not the EPiC of last week but an agreeable outing with Doc.

I enjoyed 21d .
Many thanks, mintyman99. A great help in the absence of the smart edition.
Thanks minty!
I realise this may have been discussed before but does anyone know what is going on with the smart edition?
I believe the smart edition is no longer available as they are encouraging people to subscribe to the on-line edition, or purchase the actual magazine.

I suppose it had to happen eventually!
thank you indeed MM99. I haven't even had a go at last weeks yet as I got bogged down in listeners and rugby so will print off for later.

BTW who were listed as the winners of 1997?
Thanks for the link MM. Does this mean our online printouts will no longer be accepted?
Many thanks, mintyman. A walk in the park compared to last week's.
many thanks for link
Thank you Mintyman. I actually bought the magazine for crossword 2000, because of the mess I'd made of the (downloaded Mintyman) one I'd photocopied up to A3 in order to read the clues. A drawback for me is that the magazine gives Toby Young a platform for his hobbyhorse(s). I enjoyed 2001 and its theme, which I used to sing to my children when bathing them as a dramatic accompaniment to splashing them. They thought it was funny anyway.
@ Roslyn: I've won 2 £20s with printouts before so perhaps the regime will continue. I'm not sure where mintyman sources his pdf version but long may he continue to do so. It does contain a name and address section so they must be expecting solvers to fill it in!
Only one brain on it this week and I can't see 32d (C?AR?E) and 41across (??EE). Finally bought a Chambers after the "going out of business" scare and it was a huge help.
32d Clarke (Arthur C) - the theme

41a Klee
Many thanks Kayakamina - I should have had that. Now, back to puzzle 2000 - only half done.
