1) Peaches grown in England. (7) P?P?I?S. Answer given yesterday pipkins or pippins. Any more input please

Chambers (11th ed.) also defines 'pippin' as "something or someone especially nice" which could be taken as a definition of 'peach'

The only reference I can find to Pippin is for apples, but a Pipkin is a small barrel. Pippin isn't on this list (nor is pipkin!) http://www.harvestwiz...s_there_are_more.html
