I think that I can safely say that tomorrow’s launch by King Wickedtongue should find us back on an even keel. I have last week’s scores entered onto the May Scoreboard ready to add in the components for this the second week of May. All is set for a bumper round. My best wishes go to the supporters of Stoke City and Manchester City for an exciting FA Cup Final. Last year, when I visited St James’ Park, the tour took us to the Trophy Room. I have never been so underwhelmed!
As for MM Linkers, there are many high IQ-ers among our ranks and an array of formidable Cryptic Crossword Winners. Our latest royal MM Link setter, King Wickedtongue, is no exception! Last weekend, his name appeared as one of the runners-up of the Cryptic Crossword in Saturday’s Daily Telegraph. Further, to my knowledge, he was the only one to predict all four of the link words as set by Michael Mepham (Kate’s father).
You should be “standing by” tomorrow morning at 08.45am, ready for the launch of MM Links with the vital four words to be predicted being declared at 9.00am. Remember, early MM hits gain bonus points! As usual, I ask that you should also look out for the international version of this same game which is called KM Links and kicks off at a very early hour (which is difficult to predict precisely). Consequently, the timing of your posting is deemed to be irrelevant ~ only the number of hits you are able to register. The regular organiser of KM Links comes all the way from Oz ( Roo-land) and is my good friend, “seekeerz”. She is truly the “Wizard-ess of Oz.
However, as I always say ~ “Why not chance your arm at both Link Games?” You have nothing to lose. Both games remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards to trace progress through each monthly contest.
Until we meet again, may I wish you ~ “Happy Linking”!
Crofter, re: St James Park. As a student in the 1960's we could, very comfortably, watch the games there, for free and without getting cold, from fellow student's accommodation on the top floors of Leazes Terrace!
Hi pauline (and sorry to butt in folks) hope you're well. Do you know if Kayakamina is ok? Some of us have been wondering why he hasn't been on AB this last week or so.
Thanks, judy
Hi...you're not butting in at all!
I had an e-mail from Kayakamina last week, and I know he was going away, but am not sure if it was this week.
I will e-mail him and check for you. I will let him know he is missed!
Well, normally, Pauline I would say that the North started at Oxford Street in London but in your case, I would say somewhere a little north of the Humber River.
But as a half-Scot I would say somewhere above a line drawn between Perth and Glasgow!
Now, now, Pauline stop trying to confuse me.
I know full well ( I've seen those soaps on TV) you all live in back-to-backs with an outside loo with torn up pages of the Tribune, hanging on a hook, to use as toilet paper. You all wear clogs and work down mill and go to chapel.
Stop trying to confuse me!
Still bickering I see:o)) If pauline is somewhere above Perth and Glasgow that puts me in the Arctic! (I'm near St Andrews)
pauline, thanks, he must be on holiday. judy xx
Yes, Judy, she love St Andrews - just about to finish third year, one more year to go. Lives bang in the middle of the town.
And, yes, I hate to admit it but I'm in love with Pauline.
Oh, these midland lasses, wearing a floral pinny, with their hair in rollers covered by a scarf with a fag hanging off their lips, oh so enticing, so sexy.........
Oh cruel world, why does she keep rejecting my advances...........
