Why does the AnswerBank Editor allow it ?
29 Answers
I have noticed that several Quiz Organizers are happy to advertise their forthcoming quizzes on the AnswerBank site, but then go on to request that no answers to questions be posted until a week or so before the closing date, and then they have the cheek to specify and request "clues only" ! May I respectfully remind all who are concerned or interested that this is ANSWER-BANK, and NOT "Clue Bank".
So long as the quiz organisers have their entrance fees, why are they bothered with regard to how the participants in their quizzes obtained their answers ? Let those who do not want to obtain help from Answer Bank refrain from "trawling" its contents.
And if these requests (to not seek AnswerBank help) are allowed to continue, how long will it be, before we are asked not to seek help from our local libraries, or from our own collections of reference books, or from "Google" ?

You are clearly not of those people so I suggest you stick to sites more suited to you in future but I do have to say if it hadn't been for you posting on here I wouldn't have bothered taking the action to find out what my legal position is.so you have probably done a lot of setters a service.
Oddboddy - "I also have the legal right to request ab removes any posts that break the rules and I can legally request the name of anyone breaking those rules" Where does it say that and can you tell all the Facebook users etc.
Lying Pompous w£$$%^^^r this board is independant of you or your rules as any question you ask has its answer on the web do you think you can remove anything on the web?
You know sites like this are out there, so I suggest if it offends your sensibilities you don't do quizzes until then I suggest you obey this sites rules.

Ah, well, it was worth an airing, and all the comments received were along the lines that I anticipated. I have to admit that I do use answerbank occasionally for help or answers, but only after I have spent a lot of time and effort trying to find them myself, and definitely not as soon as any particular quiz appears. Another criticism that I have of quiz-setters is their "first-out-of-the-hat" get out, when they receive several 100% correct entries. If setting a "tiebreaker" is beyond you, why not just sell raffle tickets instead ?
Finally, the reference above to possible disqualification of entrants, by some quiz-setters, is laughable. You, in Kettering, or Cambridge, and several other places, who may well have had, or be holding, entries from myself, will not last long, nor receive future support, if you choose to go down that route !
