4. York
2. Hull
1. Folkestone
3. Cork?
but Cork's in Eire
Eire is part of The British isles
eire.. the R.O.I!..is not in the british isles!
I believe Eire is part of the British Isles, which comprise Great Britain and Ireland (not specifically Northern Ireland). The UK (which excludes Eire) was not specified.
Where exactly is the Republic of Ireland then if it isn't in the British Isles?
Did they tow it away from Northern Ireland and moor it off the Azores?
It most certainly is, although there is understandably some controversy applying the name British to the RoI.
Some prefer the terms Atlantic Archipelago or Anglo-Celtic Isles
hmm..your link also says the term is controversial and the Irish government don't use it...I'm Irish ;)
That's fair enough emu but it isn't controversial here in the UK.
Each to their own :-)
I'm not trying to be political..it's just as an Irish person it's not a term we use so I thought it was wrong. Scotman is right...geographically lol!
Didn't mean to start a disagreement! And I'm not even certain whether the answer is correct, but it seemed to fit the bill.
cork sounds right :)
This other article and maps at the section titled 'at a glance' is quite informative
