Hi, writesbad,I've been trying to work out no2.How did you arrive at Military Two Step,please.Not an anagram of the words given.
Is it not an anagram of "portly waist time"?
Sorry,I must have had a senior moment there!!
Hi Quinie
If you look at your dance card, it is the second dance after the interval...
Question Author
how do you get quickstep from the clue for no 3(living relative from a previous marriage)????
there are the quick and the dead, so quick equates to living
and a relative from a previous marriage - like your partner's child from a previous marriage is a step...
I might of course be completely wrong
living = quick
step = relative
quick=alive + step as in stepmother
Quick means living, as in the quick and the dead. Step as in stepson &c.
I think 1 could be Gay Gordons!
Hi,mike11111, I think you could be right. I kept thinking gin but not Gordon's gin. Quite a devious clue!
Question Author
thank you all so much i would never have got the quick & the dead clue nor gay for pink ice
Doesn't angostura bitters give a pink tinge to gin?
Yes, but drink with tonic suggests gin (Gordon's) and pink suggests gay.
