3 - The dodger first half, yanky slang for foul odour in 5

I think it might be Art Garfunkel, as funk is american slang for foul odour, but can't figure out the connection with 5.
(number 5 in the quiz is "Stretch Mrs Wren, in a hurry." I've got Jennifer Rush.)

Help appreciated.

We have accounted for Art and Funk so that just leaves Gar-el. But I can't see a connection between Garel and Jennifer Rush

Do you think it's as simple as that Anneho? His clues are sometimes very odd. Thank you anyway for the reply. I shall put Art Garfunkel in anyway as I'm sure it is the right answer.
