the answer seems to be Gaddafi but in the papers the name is spelt Gadaffi. Could the compiler be wrong?? Or am I?

There are so many ways of spelling words when translating from original Arabic.... I'd go for 2 Ds myself.

Thanks all but still doesn't explain why in The Sunday Times it refers to Colonel Gadaffi.
From the Sunday Times (Online) -
