Just to let you know, Our total donated to MAGPAS so far stands at £1774.50p. Thanks to everyone. I visited their HQ yesterday to hand over the cheques from the last quiz, and they asked me to publicise the following info, to let everyone know what they do....so here goes...and please be as generous as you can...
Picture the scene;it's dark,it's cold and you're trapped in your car. Your injuries are so severe you need specialist medical care. Thankfully, you're in the East of England where MAGPAS provides the UK's only dedicated night time air ambulance with a doctor on board, in partnership with Cambridgeshire Police. Our highly trained doctors and paramedics will work together to save your life day and night.
* MAGPAS has been operational since 1971
* Based in Cambridgeshire
* It costs £750k per year to provide the service
* MAGPAS Helimedix is the UK's only charity funded Air Ambulance to fly at night with Doctors
* They fly to 6 counties covering the East of Englands 5.8 million people
* The MAGPAS helicopter has a maximum speed of 154mph
* On average they are activated £-5 times daily
* They have attended over 50,000 patients
* They receive no government or lottery funding
