Does anybody know the first singer to appear on Sesame Street? This question is on local radio and has been ongoing for about 9 days. Nobody, as yet has come up with the correct answer.

I presume they do not mean any of the 'regular' cast who sang only on the show but someone who we would recognise as a famous professional singer.

If so, extensive Googling has led me to a male singer who appeared in the first season in 1969 but didn't become well-known until the mid/late 70's.

What's it worth?

Thanks Kempie. Its probably a "goodie bag" ;o(. But more important, it's the accolade of putting the locals out of their misery!! And me too!!! The answers so far has varied from Bing Crosby to Kylie and Robbie!! Ha ha ! That's a laugh seeing as how they probably were in the cradle in 1969 ish! So??? Who is it then?
