Doing a local charity quiz and thought I'd nearly finished but find there are a few questions that still beat me. After some weeks, they are now really frazzling my brain and I would appreciate any help:
Example: 12 S of the Z = 12 signs of the Zodiac
2.3M C to C LY
83 C in E
214 B C the R T
38 S P of W S
4 P to A a C to C
15 N 1 A for the B
F C has 8 R plus R
Thanks for these ideas Magyar and Wazzard. Shakespeare certainly looks like a fruitful one to follow up! I had toyed with the idea of local places/landmarks but couldn't come up with anything. The way LY is written without a space suggests it's a two part/linked word - I have played around with leap year but again no joy....
Thanks Methyl! Funnily enough I had considered 83 counties in England and rejected it out of hand as I thought there were nowhere near that number!
Re the 2.3M one, your suggestion makes loads of sense since it is an NSPCC quiz - can't find corroboration on their website yet but still looking. As you say, it is a statistic to make you think deeply.....
I thought it might be 9 sparks per second on a roman candle...never actually counted them, but Google can't confirm this.Maybe this mad brainstorming will prompt someone out there to come up with the right answer!
Congratulations beckersjay, you seem to have found a quiz question that no-one on Answerbank can solve (very unususal! ) OK then , how about 9 spins per second on a rinse cycle? Do washing machines spin on a rinse cycle? I'm a hopeless male so I wouldn't know. When do you get the answers? I'd love to know what it should be.
Yes, there is a rinse cycle Headbanger, but I can't find any figures for spins per second! 9 sounds a bit fast to me for a rinse cycle?
I'm getting dafter and dafter - in the middle of the night came up with '9 screams per second on a roller coaster'!!
I agree - I haven't seen many unanswered quiz questions on AB. Pity it had to be this one! Come on AB-ers - a CHALLENGE!
