Could it be that he bought a patent/copyright?  He then licenses that to lots of people who pay him a fee.  But the original design/work is not lost, so the original value is maintained and he makes money?
He buys a book of autographs and sends it to more famous people to sign?

QmunkE - way smarter than my guess!

I still think we haven't hit the nail on the head though.  BreenM - do you KNOW the answer; are you just teasing us?

QmunkE's answer is good.
Another answer could be that he buys an expensive money box and people around the globe put money in it and return it to him.

Honestly I don't know the answer.  I have my doubts as whether it is a real question. it's just annoying me now.  I think the answer might be obvious once we get it but  really don't think it's any of the suggestions given anyway.  Keep thinking guys.  it's bugging me.

By "loan" do you mean they pay or not? Could it be a piece of art he loans to galleries at excessive prices?

maybe he owns an aircraft (or airline)and he "loans" seats on it.....??

...and maybe he is reaaalllyy good looking, rich and single (and heterosexual) and then he and I could go out......

.....maybe I am living in SUCH a fantasy!!! Oh well.... I can dream......

BTW does this answer your question??

:-)

For anyone that's still interested, i'm told the answer is a camera.  He loans it to people to take pictures of him when he's on holiday.  I apologise for this question being so rubbish.  I was expecting something better.
